• Wind Energy Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City Hands-on Training Provides New Insights

    About 30 Vietnamese from different organizations and companies attended a workshop on wind energy in Ho Chi Minh City from December 13 to 17, 2010, sponsored by the German Ministry of Environment, Nature Conversation and Nuclear Safety. The workshop introduced participants to basic fundamentals of onshore wind energy as well as to the challenging task of wind measurement.

  • Study Tour on Wind Energy Vietnamese Delegates Meet with Experts in Beijing

    In December 2010, 20 delegates from different Vietnamese Ministries and Governmental bodies such as Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Government Office, Binh Thuan Wind Energy Association, Energy Association, Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong Province as well as selected wind energy developers went on a study tour to China. Sponsored by the German Ministry of Environment, Nature Conversation and Nuclear Safety, Vietnamese participants were able to participate in eleven meetings in Beijing, from 6 to 9 December 2010.

  • Renewable Energy Asia Conference 2010

    The annual Renewable Energy Asia Conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand, last week on the 15th and 16th of September 2010. As part of the ongoing Wind Power project in Vietnam, the GTZ Vietnam Wind Energy team attended the conference and exhibition to further their knowledge on the current situation regarding Renewable Energies in Asia and more precisely in Vietnam's neighboring countries.

    The 6th of November 2009 the Ministry of Industry and Trade's (MoIT) Department of Energy and the German Government-funded project "Establishment of a Legal Framework and Technical Assistance for Wind Power Development in Viet Nam", implemented by German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) organized the "International Forum on Wind Power Development in Viet Nam".
